Commander
Celisa Edwards - Cmdr.
Edwards graduated from Starfleet Academy with a degree in Natural Science of
the Sol System, and a
minor in Alien Culture. Her initial assignment was on the USS
Enterprise for three years upon her graduation from
Starfleet. Following her assignment to the USS Enterprise, Cmdr.
Edwards served an additional three years on Deep
Space Nine, a Federation space station protecting a worm hole in the beta
quadrant. Upon completion of her assignment there, Cmdr. Edwards was
offered the opportunity to work with Cmdr. Lawson in the early stages of
Starfleet Institute of the Sciences. Accepting the position, Cmdr.
Edwards joined the Institute in the Fall of 1994. She has been the Training Officer of the 6th grade math and science students at Madison Middle
School Magnet. In 2001, Cmdr. Edwards earned the Terran National Board
Certification in Early Adolescent Science. Other Terran honors include PEOPLE magazine, LAEP Excellence in Teaching award,
LA City Teacher of Mathematics award, and KNX Citizen of the Week.
In 2004, Starfleet Command reassigned Cmdr. Edwards to McConnell Middle
School in Georgia to help launch the second campus of Starfleet
Institute of the Sciences. In 2007, Cmdr. Edwards transferred to Dacula Middle School, where she
and Cmdr. Lawson, created
the new Starfleet satellite campus. In 2008, Prentice Hall Publishing
honored her with their "Most Valuable Teacher" award. In 2012, she
represented Dacula Middle School as their Teacher of the Year.
Currently, she commands the Technology Team for both 7th and 8th grades,
and provides direct instruction for the 7th grade cadets.

Commander
Christopher Everett - Cmdr.
Everett graduated from Starfleet Academy with a degree Interstellar
Technology and Linguistics. His initial assignment was on the USS
Enterprise for one year upon his graduation from Starfleet. Following
his assignment on board the USS Enterprise, Cmdr.
Everett was
offered the opportunity to work with Cmdr. Edwards at Starfleet Institute of
Learning. Accepting the position, Cmdr.
Everett joined the Institute in the Fall of 2016. He is now the Training Officer of the
8th Technology Team at Dacula Middle
School. |

Jayne Lawson - Cmdr. Lawson graduated from Starfleet Academy with a double major.
She earned a degree in
Planetary Biological Science, and a Starfleet Nursing degree. Upon being
commissioned as an Ensign, Cmdr. Lawson served aboard the Federation
flagship, the USS Enterprise, for several years as the primary science officer.
After her assignment aboard the USS Enterprise was completed, Cmdr.
Lawson was offered the position of Training Officer for a new program entitled
Starfleet Institute of the Sciences. Accepting the position, Cmdr.
Lawson was assigned to the campus of Madison Middle School in Spring 1994
and has served as the 7th and 8th grade Science Training Officer.
In 2001, Cmdr. Lawson earned the Terran National Board Certification in
Early Adolescent Science. Other Terran honors include PEOPLE
magazine, LAEP Excellence in Teaching, VFW Teacher of the Year, and KNX
Citizen of the Week. After serving for 10 years at Madison Middle
School, Cmdr. Lawson was reassigned to McConnell Middle School in
Georgia to establish the second satellite campus of Starfleet Institute
of the Sciences. In 2007, Starfleet has transferred
Cmdr. Lawson to Dacula Middle School, where, along with Cmdr. Edwards,
she established the new satellite campus of Starfleet Institute of
Learning, focusing on technology and diversity in learning. In 2008,
Prentice Hall Publishing honored her, along with Cmdr. Edwards, with
their "Most Valuable Teacher" award. In 2015, Cmdr. Lawson retired from
active service with Starfleet to serve as liaison between Starfleet
Command and the Starfleet Institute of Learning. |
